We are a friendly and welcoming archery club based at Backworth Miners Welfare in the North East of England.

We welcome new and experienced archers and have an excellent training programme.  If you want to learn the sport contact us here.

We shoot in the beautiful setting of Backworth Hall grounds (weather permitting) and will shortly be adding a new indoor venue for Sunday afternoons during the winter months.

Currently we typically shoot outdoors :

  • Wednesday and Sunday (sighters at 14:00) afternoons; and
  • Saturday afternoon (sighters at 13:00); this is generally a training/coaching day when one or more of our level 1 coaches will be available to offer help or advice.
  • at Backworth Hall, Station Road, NE27 0AH

We have a new indoor facility for novices, checking out and adjusting new kit etc., and potential beginners courses in future, situated in North Shields.  Shooting Tuesday evenings. As this is a small hall it is not suitable for shooting rounds or for compound bows.

During the winter we shoot indoors on Sundays at Kings Priory School in Tynemouth.

Beginners Courses run through the summer season on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. We also try to hold monthly have-a-go sessions..
